A rugby club is built on more than match days. It's built on the volunteers who give up their evenings, the coaches who inspire players every week, the team managers who keep everything organised, the parents who stand on the sidelines in all weathers and the players who wear the shirt with pride.

Our website should reflect that.

As we prepare for the new season, we're working to create a website that celebrates every corner of Derby Rugby Club. A place where new families can discover what we're about, prospective players can find the right team, existing members can stay connected and everyone can see the incredible community we've built together.

But no single person can tell every team's story.

That's where you come in.

Calling all team managers

Every age group has its own identity. Every team has its own culture, traditions and personality. Whether it's our youngest players taking their first steps into rugby, teams developing future senior players or groups that have become lifelong friends, every squad has a story worth sharing.

We're asking each team manager to send us a little information about your team. It doesn't need to be polished or professionally written, that's our job. A couple of paragraphs, a handful of bullet points. Just some notes tellilng us your story. 

Think about things like:

• What age group do you manage?

• What's the atmosphere like within your team?

• What values do you try to promote?

• What would a new player experience if they came along?

• Are there any traditions, achievements or memorable moments that make your team unique?

• What makes your coaches, volunteers and players special?

The more you can tell us, the more we can showcase everything that makes your team a fantastic part of Derby Rugby Club.

At the moment, many of our team pages are empty. Blank pages don't tell the story of the brilliant people who give their time every week and they certainly don't show prospective players and families what makes our club such a welcoming place to be.

Let's change that.

This website isn't just another communication tool, it's a shop window for the club, a newspaper telling community stories. It's where people decide whether to come down for their first training session. It's where former players reconnect. It's where parents learn more about our values. Most importantly, it's where we celebrate the people who make Derby Rugby Club what it is.

The only way we'll achieve that is by working together.

So please take ten minutes, jot down a few paragraphs or some bullet points and send them over. We'll do the rest. Expanding, editing and presenting everything in a way that does your team proud.

Every team deserves to be seen. Every volunteer deserves to be recognised. Every player deserves to be celebrated.

Let's make sure that, when the new season begins, our website tells the story of the whole Derby Rugby Club community.
