For over 130 years, Derby Rugby Club has been bringing people together through rugby, friendship and community.

Founded in 1891 and proudly based at Haslams Lane since 2002, Derby RFC has grown into one of the most welcoming and inclusive rugby clubs in the Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire and Derbyshire (NLD) region.
Affiliated to the Rugby Football Union (RFU), the club provides outstanding playing, training, social and event facilities for players, members, supporters and visitors alike.

At the heart of Derby RFC is a simple belief: Rugby is for everyone.

Every week during the season, more than a thousand people pass through our gates to play, coach, volunteer, support or simply enjoy being part of the club. From six-year-olds taking their first steps in the game to senior players competing at the highest levels, Derby RFC offers opportunities for people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds to get involved.

Rugby for Everyone

Our rugby pathway spans every stage of the game with sections dedicated to:

  • Men's Rugby and Colts (Under 18 Boys)
  • Women's Rugby and Junior Girls
  • Junior Boys (Under 18 to Under 12)
  • Minis Rugby (Under 11 to Under 6 Boys and Girls)
  • Derby Touch Rugby, affiliated to England Touch

Inclusivity is central to everything we do.
We are proud to have been one of the first clubs to embrace Mixed Ability Rugby through the formation of the Derby Bucks in 2018. Since then, the Bucks have flourished, competing nationally and internationally while demonstrating that rugby can be truly accessible to all. We are also continuing to develop opportunities for women and girls within mixed-ability rugby.

More Than Just a Rugby Club

While rugby is at the centre of club life, Derby RFC is about much more than what happens on the pitch.

Our members include players, coaches, volunteers, parents, supporters, officials and friends of the club. Whether you want to play, watch, volunteer or simply enjoy being part of a thriving community, there is a place for you here.

For those who prefer not to play, a range of social and non-playing memberships are available, offering opportunities to support the club, attend events and enjoy our facilities throughout the year.

Exceptional Facilities

Our home, Haslams, is one of the premier rugby and event venues in the region.

The site features excellent playing and training facilities, including access to an RFU Artificial Grass Pitch (AGP), alongside extensive grass pitches and spectator areas. The clubhouse provides a modern, welcoming environment for members and visitors and is available for private hire throughout the year.

Whether you're planning a family celebration, corporate event, training session, sports fixture, or community gathering, Haslams offers flexible spaces capable of accommodating up to 199 guests indoors and up to 1,500 people for outdoor events and activities.

Supporting Rugby Through Partnership

Our corporate partners and sponsors play a vital role in the continued success of Derby Rugby Club.

Their support helps fund grassroots rugby, develop future talent, strengthen community programme  and support our senior teams. In return, we offer meaningful opportunities for businesses to engage with our members, supporters and the wider Derby community.

By partnering with Derby RFC, businesses become part of a club that is committed to growth, community impact and creating opportunities both on and off the field.

Join the Derby RFC Family

Whether you're looking to play, support, volunteer, sponsor, hire our facilities or simply enjoy a great matchday experience, you'll always find a warm welcome at Derby Rugby Club.

Whatever your interest, whatever your connection to the game, we'd love to welcome you to Haslams.
