Derby Rugby Business lunch goes from strength to strength
What a fantastic afternoon at Derby Rugby Football Club as we welcomed more than 40 local businesses to the second Derby Rugby Business Club lunch.
Bringing together existing DRFC sponsors, partners and businesses from across the Derby business community, the Business Club is quickly becoming exactly what we hoped it would be, a relaxed, welcoming place where local businesses can connect, share ideas, learn something useful and enjoy some great company.
And judging by the buzz in the room, we’re onto something!
A huge part of that is down to Yvonne Gorman, who has taken the reins of the Business Club and is doing a brilliant job of bringing our business community together.
The people around you make you strong and having Yvonne in your corner adds rivets to ensure a stable base for this endeavour to grow.
For us, this is about much more than traditional networking. We want Derby Rugby Club to be a place where businesses feel at home, somewhere relationships can be built, opportunities can develop and our sponsors and partners can become part of a wider, genuinely connected community.
This month we were joined by Dave Endsor from Chapter, who delivered an excellent and highly practical session on marketing. The presentation sparked a really engaged Q&A, with plenty of questions, ideas and conversation continuing around the room afterwards.
Of course, a Business Club lunch needs a good lunch too and once again the facilities team delivered! Was that a spicy chicken pasta? Oh hello.
Great food, free parking, an accessible venue and most importantly, a room full of brilliant Derby people and businesses.
We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who joined us and helped make the second Business club lunch such a success.
And a particularly big thank you to Yvonne for fronting the Business Club, championing what we’re trying to achieve and bringing together such a fantastic group of people.
We’re only two lunches in, but the community around the Derby Rugby Business Club is already growing.
Here’s to the next one.
