Derby RFC

PROUD OF OUR COLTS!

Before kick-off, both teams, coaches and supporters came together to observe a respectful minute's silence in remembrance.
A poignant moment of reflection and respect, reminding us that rugby is about more than just the game.

The lads then took to the pitch for a hard-fought 22–22 draw against strong opposition, with plenty of vocal home support from the sidelines. Derby Colts stood tall.

It was a game that tested the team both physically and mentally. Picking up a number of injuries meant having to adapt, reshuffle and adjust throughout the match. But rather than allowing those setbacks to affect their performance, the lads showed real maturity, resilience and determination.

There were moments when they had to dig deep, trust each other and find another gear. They kept their heads, backed their teammates and continued to battle for one another right through to the final whistle.

While the scoreboard finished level at 22–22, the performance offered so much more than just a result. It showed a group of players who are learning, growing and developing together, building not just their rugby skills but the confidence, character and team spirit that will carry them forward.

There is still plenty to learn and work on, but days like today are an important part of that journey.

Every player contributed, every player stuck together, and every player should walk away knowing they've given their all.

Great effort, boys. You should be incredibly proud of yourselves. We certainly are!
